The following missive was sent to the Korean Central New Agency by the author of this blog on April 11th, 2013 (republished on December 10, 2021)
From a supporter of the DPRK's struggle and survival against USA imperialism,
I urge the DPRK state media services to conduct a systematic counter information campaign aimed at global public opinion. The aim of the campaign should be to expose the fact that the United States is only playing poker. They have no intention of attacking first, their intention is to provoke the DPRK to fire first so that then they can say the DPRK started the war. The Western media is promoting war hysteria with the intention of bluffing the North Koreans into surrender. It is a form of psychological operations. A similar tactic has been used against Venezuela, Lybia, Syria and Iran.
Like Iran and Venezuela, the DPRK has a right to launch satellites. The DPRK has as much right as any other nation to develop its aerospace technologies. The United States has no right of ownership over orbital space.

You are now fighting a fourth generation information war. Conventional agitprop propaganda techniques do not work to counter the Western media conglomerate in the 21st Century where "branding defines culture" and the narrative has been simplified to soundbytes. The DPRK media must fight fire with fire.
